My career began in sports medicine as an Athletic Trainer, providing me with a foundational understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, injury recognition, treatment, and prevention. These core principles are the cornerstones of effective occupational ergonomics.
For over 15 years, I’ve applied this expertise across diverse industries. My early work in commercial printing combined physical rehabilitation with ergonomics, followed by a corporate role with a public utility serving office, dispatch, and field workers in power and gas distribution. Most recently, I’ve served as a senior ergonomics professional for a leading agricultural equipment manufacturer.
These varied experiences in corporate, office, industrial, and manufacturing environments have shaped me into a subject matter expert in the field of physical ergonomics.
My Ergonomics Practice Philosophy
I believe that ergonomics surrounds us with everything we do in our daily lives and is much more than a buzzword. ERGONOMICS IS EVERYWHERE. It is part of our lives and affects everything that we do. The problem is that ergonomics is rarely taught AND practiced. I founded Practical Ergonomics as a platform to share sound ergonomics principles and make ergonomics accessible to everyone.

My Mottos of Life
“Do the right thing”
If we always “do the right thing”, good things will happen. Being capable of distinguishing right from wrong is always the challenge.
“Learn. Work. Play.”
LEARN what you need to know to be successful. Apply what you know and WORK hard at achieving your success. Then enjoy the fruits of your labor and PLAY. Always in that order.
